Addicted to everquest

Hi.

My husband is addicted to Everquest online adventures for the ps2. He is unable to tear himself from that game. He only gets off the eat, pee, or sleep. We have 2 children..he never helps me with them..never changes a diaper..never makes them lunch or gives them a bath..never even comes out of the room to play with them or say hello. We had a nice apartment at one point..until he lost his job because he wanted to play his game instead of going to work..now we are living with his mother and he is not working or anything...refuses to even walk over to the park with me and the kids for a "family day out". I could go on and on but i think u get the point.


I know most of you are thinking..LEAVE HIM...but i have nowhere to go..believe me i do not want to be with this man anymore...but i cannot even afford to put the kids in daycare and get a job..he refuses to help me in any way...just plays the game day after day..

If someone can give me some advice..any..it would be great

That's a brutal story. :/

I'm not well balanced () so all I can suggest is logging on to his account and return the favor by destroying his virtual stuff. It could mean having to do it all over which could turn him off the game and thus help him in the long term.

that is something i have thought of..but i was afraid that would push him into violence

What about getting him permanently banned on account of whatever behaviour goes against the Everquest T.o.s? He'd probably assume it was a hacker?

But of course your best bet is to figure out a way to get independent so you can leave him.

Just log in and share a few choice words about various ethnic groups, that'll do the trick.

but you are right..i do need to become independent..even after he leaves the game (if and when he does) things are beyond repair..i am young ..wont be a problem for me to do my own thang;)

No problem, although you should probably wait for some more reasonable advice givers before you do anything too drastic. ;)
